The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 requires that services are available to everyone; a disabled person must not be treated less favourably because of their disability. Employers have duties under the Act to make reasonable adjustments so that there are no barriers to the employment of a disabled person. Building owners have to take steps to ensure that both existing and new buildings comply with the law.
